After school

Yesterday was my first day back at work after almost 6 weeks. I don't think I've ever spent so much time with the girls being their full caregiver since we returned to Singapore in May 2009. During the holidays, my in laws were away in China for a good fortnight, while my mum worked most days. So I didn't have that many opportunities to outsource my kids as I often do. Was I tired? Absolutely! Did my kids sometimes drive me nuts? Of course! But did I enjoy my time with them, most certainly YES! I really wasn't looking forward to returning to work, and also missing their first real day of school. But as it turns out, my return to work was smooth, apart from the 788 emails in my inbox. And the girls seemed to enjoy their first day too. Today, I got to be there to pick them up after their second day of school. Here's Wen with her classmates.

the one I was worried about was Min, because I had uprooted her from the afternoon session where all her friends were, to the morning session. But it does seem that she is settling down nicely, and En's form teacher last year, Yang Lao Shi, is also her form teacher this year, and things seem to be working out there so far!
Very proud of my Min and how resilient and strong she is!
